About this course.

Becoming a manager is one of the biggest changes anyone makes in their working life. Up to the point of promotion, your success has usually depended on what you personally produce — the quality of your own work, your technical skill, your reliability. From the day you take on a management role, your success depends on something quite different: getting results through other people. You are now judged not by what you do yourself but by what your team achieves, by how well they are organised, motivated and developed, and by the culture you build around them. That shift catches many new managers by surprise, and it is the reason this course exists.

Management Level 3 is a practical, applied course for practising and aspiring managers — including supervisors stepping up to their first management role and first-line and middle managers who want to lead more confidently and effectively. It covers the core of the manager’s job: understanding your role and the difference between management and leadership; planning, organising and setting clear objectives; delegating well; leading and motivating teams; communicating with skill and emotional intelligence; managing performance, giving feedback and handling underperformance fairly; leading people through change; solving problems and making decisions; managing conflict; recruiting, onboarding, coaching and developing your people; managing resources, budgets and projects at an awareness level; and understanding the legal and ethical responsibilities that come with being a manager.
